About this role

Role Overview

Menlo Park‑based Snowflake is hiring a Senior Technical Program Manager focused on machine learning and AI. The role suits individuals with extensive program management experience in cloud or AI‑centric environments who can lead complex, cross‑team initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end‑to‑end ML/AI programs, covering model infrastructure, inference pipelines, AI services, and AI‑enabled product features.
Work with ML engineers, research scientists, product managers, and engineering leaders to create roadmaps, identify dependencies, and build execution plans that reflect the iterative nature of ML development.
Coordinate launches that involve multiple organizations, ensuring cohesive delivery of AI features across infrastructure, application interfaces (such as Streamlit, Notebooks, Cortex Code), and the core platform.
Adapt program structures to manage uncertainty, model experimentation cycles, evaluation gates, and trade‑offs between accuracy and latency.
Establish governance and reporting cadences, tracking milestones, risks, decisions, and engineering health, and escalating issues when needed.
Align cross‑functional teams—including product, design, security, and legal/compliance—on AI feature releases, model deployment, and responsible AI practices.
Identify systemic bottlenecks and design lightweight, tooling‑backed processes to improve engineering velocity.
Oversee AI launch readiness, coordinating model evaluation sign‑off, performance benchmarking, safety reviews, and documentation.
Present data‑driven status updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, linking program execution to business outcomes.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years of technical program management experience at a cloud or AI‑native technology company.
Proven track record of owning cross‑team programs from concept through launch.
Deep understanding of the ML lifecycle, including training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
Ability to engage technically with ML engineers and research scientists on model architecture, inference infrastructure, and evaluation metrics.
Experience managing programs that span at least four engineering teams with overlapping roadmaps.
Strong communication skills for translating technical concepts into clear narratives for diverse audiences.
Solid program management fundamentals: dependency management, risk frameworks, milestone governance, stakeholder alignment, and escalation discipline.

Nice to Have

Experience with large language model (LLM) inference, fine‑tuning, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) architectures, or AI functions.

Skills and Tools

Program management of ML/AI initiatives
Knowledge of model infrastructure and inference pipelines
Familiarity with AI services such as Snowflake Cortex
Experience with application surfaces like Streamlit, Notebooks, and Cortex Code
Understanding of LLM inference, fine‑tuning, and RAG

Salary and Benefits

Salary range: $166K – $238K
