Role Overview

Global HR Platform is seeking a visionary Senior Staff Software Engineer - UI Architect to define the future of its product interfaces, where screens are dynamically composed by AI agents in real time. Operating as an individual contributor in Palo Alto, California, this hybrid role requires in-office collaboration for at least three days per week. The successful candidate will spearhead AI-first product experiences, lead the adoption of Google's A2UI specification, and own the design system that underpins both human-authored and agent-composed surfaces.

Key Responsibilities

Spearhead the development of AI-first, user-facing product experiences in close collaboration with artificial intelligence and platform engineering teams.
Lead the integration of Google's A2UI specification, treating user interfaces as declarative data rather than executable code.
Own and evolve the design system, shared component library, design tokens, primitives, composition patterns, theming, and accessibility standards.
Champion an AI-native engineering culture by integrating tools like Claude Code and Codex into daily workflows to maximize development velocity.
Partner cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to ensure seamless system integration.
Supervise team deliverables, conduct technical reviews, mentor engineers, and actively manage technical debt.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of professional software development experience with a strong focus on front-end development and UI architecture.
Deep, hands-on expertise in ReactJS, TypeScript, and modern front-end engineering.
Demonstrated experience building, scaling, or serving as a primary owner of a design system or shared component library.
Hands-on experience designing AI-first product experiences and utilizing LLM-powered coding assistants.
Exceptional leadership abilities with a proven track record of driving technical discussions and aligning engineering with business goals.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with agent-driven and generative-UI approaches, including Google's A2UI and related protocols like A2A and AG-UI.
Solid understanding of backend technologies such as Postgres and serverless environments on AWS.
Experience with growth-focused engineering projects and performance optimization.
