Role Overview

Global HR Platform is hiring a Director of Data based out of the Toronto office, with required in-office collaboration from Monday through Wednesday. This leadership role sits at the intersection of research, development, and core business functions, including marketing, sales, operations, finance, and legal. The ideal candidate acts as the chief data storyteller, translating complex technical insights into clear business strategies for executives and the board of directors.

Key Responsibilities

Design, execute, and own the vision for modern data infrastructure, ensuring reliable, high-performing pipelines and strict data security protocols.
Transform complex datasets into actionable strategies that optimize growth funnels, billing accuracy, payroll speed, and compliance tracking.
Spearhead the "AI Everywhere" initiative, embedding artificial intelligence into internal workflows and customer-facing products like the compliance assistant, Alfie.
Act as a bridge between technical R&D and business goals by delivering compelling data storytelling to non-technical stakeholders.
Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of data engineers, analysts, and AI specialists with an execution-oriented mindset.

Requirements

Bring 15+ years of professional experience spanning data engineering, data science, or analytics.
Accumulate at least 5 years of experience in a senior leadership role.
Demonstrate hands-on expertise with the modern data stack.
Show a proven track record of deploying large language models, machine learning models, and AI tools into production and internal operations.
Possess strong cross-functional business acumen with a history of partnering with marketing, legal, finance, and sales teams.
Commit to working from the Toronto office from Monday through Wednesday.
