About this role

Coder is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a remote position based in the United Kingdom to build and evolve systems supporting agentic development experiences. This full-time role within the Research and Development department is an ideal match for skilled developers who enjoy tackling technical ambiguity and shipping reliable production software.

Role Overview

In this capacity, the engineer will work extensively across agent harnesses, integrations, and workflows connecting intelligent agents with real development environments. Responsibilities include designing and constructing production systems, expanding provider-agnostic architectures, and collaborating closely with Product and Design teams to turn complex capabilities into valuable developer tools.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop production systems primarily in Go, with additional frontend work in React and TypeScript when necessary.
Enhance agent execution, tool usage, context management, streaming capabilities, and long-running workflows.
Extend a provider-agnostic architecture as models and technology capabilities continue to evolve.
Establish dependable integrations connecting agents, development workspaces, external tools, and developer infrastructure.
Manage projects completely from initial implementation through official rollout and ongoing iteration.
Participate actively in design reviews, code reviews, and broader technical discussions.
Optimize the overall reliability, performance, and operability of agentic systems.

Requirements

Strong background in building and operating production software systems.
Hands-on technical experience utilizing Go.
Proficiency with React and TypeScript.
Prior experience building systems centered around LLMs or agentic workflows.
Familiarity with model APIs, tool calling, context management, or agent loops.
Solid comprehension of distributed systems and production reliability standards.
Working knowledge of cloud environments like AWS.
Exceptional problem-solving capabilities with a high comfort level navigating technical ambiguity.
A collaborative mindset that contributes beyond personal code through reviews and knowledge sharing.

Nice to Have

Experience constructing coding agents, specialized developer tools, or cloud development environments.
Background using Model Context Protocol (MCP), agent tools, or multi-agent systems.
Experience dealing with remote execution, sandboxing, or isolated compute setups.
Experience building integrations across multiple distinct model providers.
Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, or Linux environments.
Open-source contributions or direct customer engagement experience.
