Role Overview

Hinge Health is launching a brand new product line for gastrointestinal care and needs a Senior Software Engineer for GI based in the San Francisco office. This role suits an experienced builder who thrives on creating products from scratch to support millions of Americans with healthcare needs. Working in a hybrid capacity requiring three days per week in the office, the professional will collaborate across hubs to engineer comprehensive end-to-end user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Design and launch a brand new digital health product from the ground up, defining the user journey for individuals dealing with gastrointestinal conditions.

Drive complex engineering projects independently, writing high-performance, bug-free production code and establishing reliable CI/CD pipelines.

Integrate modern AI technologies and automation processes into the platform to enhance care delivery and system performance.

Mentor and support junior team members through thoughtful code reviews, technical guidance, and real-time pairing.

Partner closely with product, design, and marketing colleagues to run rapid experiments, track metrics, and iterate based on real user feedback.

Requirements

Hold a minimum Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Possess at least 3 years of non-internship full-time professional software development experience.

Bring 4 or more years of experience working with at least one software programming language and navigating the full software development life cycle.

Demonstrate a strong history of delivering large software projects or features in a live production environment.

Show a proven background as a 0-to-1 builder who moves fast and balances rapid innovation with sustainable reuse.

Nice to Have

Experience building in large React Native codebases, TypeScript, Node.js, Go backends, GraphQL, and AWS services like Lambda, SQS, SNS, and SageMaker.

Familiarity with operating consumer-facing applications utilized by millions or billions of users.

Background working in regulated domains involving sensitive member data, such as healthcare and HIPAA compliance.

Proven track record of running A/B tests or multivariate experiments on core product surfaces to guide roadmap decisions.
