Read AI is seeking a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer to join its growing team in Seattle with remote flexibility. This role suits an experienced developer looking to guide technical strategy, architect scalable systems, and bridge backend processing with high-performance user interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

Take architectural ownership of complex web applications and distributed systems across the entire technology stack.

Set high standards for code quality through technical documentation, rigorous reviews, and automated testing strategies.

Oversee major product areas from initial design and discovery all the way to deployment and post-launch optimization.

Partner alongside Product and Design teams to influence technical feasibility and long-term roadmap scalability.

Resolve performance bottlenecks related to frontend rendering, database efficiency, and application speed.

Mentor junior and mid-level engineers to foster a collaborative culture focused on best practices.

Improve CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and system observability to increase developer velocity.

Requirements

Six or more years of professional software engineering experience building production-grade fullstack applications.

Advanced expertise in React and TypeScript, including state management, performance profiling, and modern CSS strategies.

Proven background designing high-throughput APIs and microservices utilizing Node.js, Java, or Python.

Strong cloud computing skills with AWS or similar providers, plus deep proficiency in SQL and NoSQL database design.

Solid systems thinking capabilities to build resilient, maintainable, and observable distributed systems.

Clear communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and lead technical RFC processes.

Nice to Have

Practical experience integrating LLMs and artificial intelligence features into consumer products.

Familiarity with Rust and Tauri for system-level or high-performance desktop applications.

Background scaling products from early-stage to mass-market within a high-growth environment.

Strong product intuition enabling design trade-offs that benefit user experience without losing technical integrity.
