Role Overview

Virta Health seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join the Revenue and Contracts team in Product Development. This remote position involves designing and maintaining systems that convert delivered care into recognized revenue. The engineer will build Go services, manage pricing configurations, generate billable events, and ensure financial reconciliation across multiple data layers. The work directly impacts national health plans and large employers who rely on accurate billing data.

Key Responsibilities

Lead projects end to end by turning ambiguous stakeholder requirements into technical designs and driving them through production.
Build and expand Go services for the quote-to-cash path, including contracts, pricing configurations, subscriptions, invoices, and claims submission.
Expand assertion and reconciliation frameworks to catch discrepancies across Salesforce, Zuora, and clinical data before invoice generation.
Design self-service tools that allow finance and operations teams to configure contracts and run bulk changes independently.
Apply artificial intelligence to accelerate development workflows and enhance the software development life cycle.
Mentor fellow engineers and elevate code quality through thorough design and code reviews.

Requirements

Five or more years of experience building and operating production backend services using Go or another statically typed language.
Practical knowledge of event-driven architectures and associated failure modes like eventual consistency and idempotency.
Strong SQL skills with comfort spanning both application code and analytics layers.
Proven ownership of a system where data correctness had high consequences, such as billing, payments, or claims.
Experience collaborating directly with non-engineering stakeholders to translate business problems into technical designs.
Familiarity with a major cloud platform such as Google Cloud Platform.
Frontend development experience utilizing React and TypeScript.
Experience utilizing AI tools to accelerate development workflows.

Nice to Have

Experience working within Revenue Cycle Management or healthcare billing environments.
