Role Overview

Commure is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Air Billing team based in Mountain View, CA. The position focuses on high-traffic product surfaces including claims, appointments, and payments posting. The engineer will participate in a generational rebuild of practice management workspaces, designing features that handle millions of claims and integrating LLMs where user friction is highest.

Key Responsibilities

Own features from initial design through production rollout across claims, appointments, and payments-posting surfaces.
Write production-ready code complete with tests, observability, dashboards, logging, and alerting.
Partner directly with product, design, and billing operations teams to solve user workflow problems.
Review peer designs and code to ensure correctness, performance on data-dense screens, and consistent user experience.
Establish technical standards, API conventions, component patterns, and assist in onboarding and mentoring teammates.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience building full-stack applications with production-ready feature delivery.
Strong frontend capabilities to construct maintainable user interfaces and resolve rendering issues on data-dense screens.
Solid understanding of API and data-layer fundamentals, including backend endpoints for filtering and pagination over large datasets.
Sound technical judgment, strong debugging instincts, clear communication skills, and an ownership mindset.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with healthcare billing data such as EDI X12, clearinghouses, ERAs/EOBs, and denial codes.
Experience deploying LLM-powered features into production workflows.
Exposure to analytical or OLAP stores alongside transactional databases.
Strong product intuition for influencing user experience decisions.
Background working in regulated industries with a focus on security and compliance.
