Role Overview

The Media Capture Team manages the systems responsible for capturing and processing audio and video data that fuel all downstream product features at Read AI. As a Senior Software Engineer for Backend, the professional works across meeting agents, media pipelines, and live connections with platforms such as Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams. The position involves designing scalable systems for live data capture and building infrastructure for meeting bots in a product-focused startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design and construct next-generation live media pipelines with a focus on low-latency handling of raw streaming data.
Support features like live transcription and live notes that rely on the speed and reliability of the media pipeline.
Maintain and enhance meeting agents that join and capture calls across Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet.
Debug and resolve complex edge cases occurring in real-time connections with third-party meeting providers.
Implement monitoring and alerting systems to detect and solve issues prior to user impact.
Tune FFmpeg and GStreamer processing pipelines to achieve cost efficiency while maintaining quality and low latency.
Improve storage methods and handoff processes for raw audio and video data destined for downstream consumers.
Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineering peers to translate technical concepts into data-driven solutions.

Requirements

Proven professional experience building software solutions that perform efficiently at scale.
Technical breadth spanning more than one domain, such as backend, frontend, devops, or data engineering.
Adaptability to learn new technologies and tech stacks as requirements evolve.
A problem-driven mindset fueled by curiosity, creativity, and resilience.
Comfortable operating with autonomy when addressing ambiguous problems.
Strong communication skills tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences.
