Role Overview

Re-Leased is seeking a Senior Quality Automation Engineer to own the quality system for am:pm, an agentic AI product built for commercial real estate operators. Working in a start-up environment inside an established SaaS business, the selected candidate will steward the end-to-end test suite, establish automated quality controls, and integrate AI into testing workflows. The role offers the chance to work alongside engineers who write unit tests, integration tests, and evals, bringing a specialized quality lens to non-deterministic systems and continuous delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Drive quality automation across the test pyramid to ensure tests execute at the most efficient and reliable layers.
Design automated quality controls, pipeline gates, smoke checks, and release signals to support safe continuous delivery.
Use AI tooling daily for test generation, bug triage, and test data creation, while curating AI-generated outputs.
Shape the testing strategy for AI-powered features, advising on evals and contributing adversarial and edge-case scenarios.
Partner with engineers on acceptance criteria, coaching them on user-centric test design covering positive, negative, and edge paths.
Execute exploratory and risk-based testing to uncover gaps missed by automation, and feed production defects back into automated suites.
Analyze quality workflows and report on quality metrics to keep the squad informed of the current quality status.

Requirements

5+ years of QA experience in a SaaS product environment with a heavy focus on automation.
Proven track record of designing test automation frameworks from scratch, including architecture and tooling choices.
Experience building JavaScript or TypeScript end-to-end suites using tools such as Playwright or Cypress.
Comfort working directly in a production codebase using Git, branches, PRs, and code review.
Fluent in CI/CD concepts with a clear perspective on safe release quality controls.
Active user of AI tools in current workflows with strong opinions on their strengths and limitations.
Genuine interest in testing AI products, non-deterministic systems, and evaluation frameworks.
Strong exploratory testing instincts, solid test-pyramid judgment, and a customer-focused mindset.

Nice to Have

Experience with LLM eval frameworks, golden datasets, judge models, and statistical thresholds.
Experience with adversarial testing of AI systems, such as prompt injection, jailbreaks, and hostile inputs.
API testing capabilities using REST, alongside performance or accessibility testing experience.
Prior start-up or zero-to-one product experience.
