Role Overview

The Senior Python Engineer role at Delinea is situated within the Business Analysis, KPI, and alerting team based in Mexico City. This position suits an experienced backend developer who enjoys consuming, modeling, aggregating, and operating on data to build powerful insights for platform users.

Key Responsibilities

Architect, design, develop, test, and maintain secure microservices, data aggregations, data models, alerting, and analytics.
Leverage appropriate data stores including document, relational, graph, and big data systems.
Build with technologies such as Python, Go, C#, Terraform, queueing systems, and REST APIs.
Orchestrate complex data flows for both near-time and post-aggregation processing.
Optimize data flow processes, ranging from SQL tuning to map/reduce strategies and queue processing.
Utilize diagnostics, observability, logging, and telemetry tools to ensure system health.
Guarantee data integrity, availability, and security across microservice communication and storage layers.
Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform for consistent Azure resource provisioning and lifecycle management.
Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated and secure deployments using Azure DevOps.
Collaborate with architects, product managers, and DevOps teams to align with security and privacy requirements.
Perform code and design reviews focusing on performance, security, and maintainability.
Deliver technical mentorship to engineering peers and drive innovation in AI-assisted automation and context-aware security.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 5 years of backend development experience utilizing Python.
Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
Familiarity with microservices and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
Proficiency in designing, developing, and maintaining relational and NoSQL databases including Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
Strong understanding of data modeling, query optimization, and transactional consistency in distributed environments.
Expertise in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform for Azure Cloud.
Practical experience integrating AI/ML systems using the Model Context Protocol or similar AI frameworks.
Experience with CI/CD tools including Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
Deep understanding of cloud security principles, identity management, and privileged access control.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities.

Nice to Have

Experience with database performance tuning, replication, and high-availability setups.
Familiarity with event-driven architectures, service meshes, and API gateways.
Knowledge of observability frameworks like Datadog and Grafana for monitoring and diagnostics.
Understanding of Zero Trust architectures and secure software lifecycle practices.
Prior experience in AI-enhanced security, automated policy enforcement, or data compliance management.
Proven success working in Agile software development and continuous delivery environments.
