Delinea is seeking a Director of Product Marketing to own the product story for our identity security platform across our three business units: AI, Workforce, and Workload. This remote position within the U.S. suits an experienced marketing leader with a strong background in enterprise SaaS and cybersecurity who thrives on shaping platform narratives and driving go-to-market success.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, the Director of Product Marketing will own the platform narrative and competitive positioning while equipping marketing, sales, and the field to carry that story into the market. This position blends strategy with hands-on execution, requiring the leader to set direction and write the messaging that the wider organization builds upon. The role oversees platform-level messaging architecture, corporate messaging consistency, field enablement, practice leadership, competitive intelligence, and analyst relations.
Key Responsibilities
Own the platform messaging architecture as the single named approver, connecting AI security, PAM, runtime authorization, identity governance, and portfolio acquisitions into one cohesive story.
Define platform-level value propositions for key personas including CISOs, IAM leaders, security architects, and platform engineers.
Serve as the final reviewer on message fidelity for product launches, analyst briefings, the annual Identity Security Report, and flagship campaigns.
Hold business unit messaging consistent with the platform layer on category definition, platform claims, shared metrics, and competitive positioning.
Oversee product and portfolio naming to ensure architecture alignment, and maintain differentiation frameworks across human, non-human, and AI identities.
Maintain the substance and quality bar for platform-level enablement, core narrative curricula, competitive plays, and seller certification standards.
Lead and grow the competitive intelligence function with continuous programs, win/loss analysis, and buyer research.
Manage analyst relations submissions, briefings, and the evidence base needed for major identity and PAM evaluations.
Requirements
Minimum of 8 years of product marketing experience in enterprise SaaS, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Experience owning a platform-level narrative across a multi-product portfolio, including through acquisition integration.
Deep expertise in cybersecurity or identity management, with demonstrated breadth across at least two areas: workforce identity, workload and machine identity, and AI security.
Proven success building narratives and messaging adopted by sales and marketing that contributed to revenue growth, market share, or adoption.
Strong storytelling skills to translate complex security concepts into clear narratives and maintain a consistent voice across product lines.
Experience leading a distributed product marketing practice through dotted-line authority in a business unit or general manager-led operating model.
Credibility with analysts, press, and CISO-level buyers, including direct experience preparing Gartner Magic Quadrant, Forrester Wave, or KuppingerCole submissions and briefings.
Nice to Have
Experience with Privileged Access Management (PAM), Zero Trust, or cloud-native identity solutions.
Experience marketing non-human identity solutions such as secrets management, workload identity, service accounts, or certificate lifecycle management.
Experience positioning AI-era identity use cases like agentic AI access, machine-speed authorization, or AI governance.
Background in competitive markets with strong incumbents, including repositioning or differentiating against market leaders.
Experience marketing to U.S. federal or regulated public sector buyers, including FedRAMP-authorized offerings.
Experience positioning acquired products, including co-branded messaging and standalone-versus-platform narratives.
