Role Overview

Operating within the Workforce team, this role centers on a cloud-hosted platform service known as Session Recording. The engineer will build and manage RESTful APIs and background workers utilizing modern .NET, deploying these solutions within Kubernetes on Microsoft Azure. Reporting to the Engineering Director, the chosen candidate will guide technical decisions and influence the architectural evolution of the platform.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and maintain high-performance .NET background workers and RESTful APIs aligned with enterprise security standards.

Oversee service deployment, resource allocation, horizontal scaling, and operational health inside Microsoft Azure and Kubernetes environments.

Partner with architects, product managers, and DevOps teams to establish service roadmaps, define API contracts, and drive production decisions.

Document and design service architectures supporting communication across internal systems with a focus on maintainability and reliability.

Lead design and code reviews to advocate for clean architecture, distributed systems patterns, and strong security practices.

Build CI/CD pipelines through GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps while incorporating AI development tools into daily workflows.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience focusing on C# and modern .NET.

Practical background in designing and operating production-grade RESTful APIs and background worker services.

Demonstrated experience deploying and running microservices in Kubernetes, including managing workloads and resolving cluster issues.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, covering cloud-native architecture, native services, and infrastructure best practices.

Solid understanding of distributed systems design patterns, secure inter-service communication, and microservices architecture.

Strong troubleshooting skills paired with effective communication abilities for collaborative Agile environments.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools and agents such as Codex, Claude, or Cursor.

Experience applying Infrastructure as Code practices using Terraform for Azure resource management.

Exposure to observability platforms like Grafana or Datadog for distributed tracing, metrics, and structured logging.
