About this role

Enabling grocery retailers to easily customize and differentiate their digital storefronts while maintaining core platform reliability presents a significant challenge. This hire will solve that problem by defining and executing the strategy for AI-assisted customization tools within Instacart's Enterprise Platform team.

The Enterprise Platform group builds white-label products that allow retailers to run their own online ecommerce experiences. Within this environment, the product manager will own the vision for the AI Control Studio, navigating a highly ambiguous space with limited precedent and frequent senior executive visibility. Responsibilities include building AI-assisted tools that simplify complex configurations, expanding platform extensibility, and balancing retailer flexibility with system-wide coherence.

Candidates who thrive in this position possess exceptional product judgment, high-throughput decision-making capabilities, and strong technical acumen. The ideal person brings a deep background in B2B product management, a track record of partnering with senior enterprise clients, and the ability to align multidisciplinary teams around long-term platform strategies.

What you will do

  • Own the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for enabling retailers to create differentiated experiences on top of their storefronts.
  • Build AI-assisted tools that make sophisticated customization dramatically easier and faster for retailers and internal teams.
  • Define the right balance between retailer flexibility and platform coherence to preserve conversion, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Expand the platform’s extensibility so retailers can support advanced use cases and connect storefronts with broader technology ecosystems.
  • Partner directly with sophisticated enterprise retailers to understand technical and business needs and shape scalable product strategy.
  • Work closely with engineering, design, commercial, and other product teams to turn ambitious long-term visions into high-velocity roadmaps.

What you need

  • Bring 8 or more years of B2B product management or similar experience to the role.
  • Demonstrate strong experience operating at the intersection of product and go-to-market by working closely with enterprise sales, marketing, and customer success.
  • Prove an ability to build trust with executives both internally and externally.
  • Exhibit strong leadership skills capable of guiding large, multidisciplinary teams toward shared outcomes across product, engineering, data, design, and GTM.
  • Show a demonstrated ability to handle complex product problems across a wide surface area with high ambiguity.
  • Possess strong product vision and communication skills to anticipate how grocery and e-commerce will evolve over a three-year horizon.

Nice to have

  • Experience with AI-accelerated creation tools using text or image prompts to help users generate or customize UI, content, or code.
  • 2+ years of involvement with sales, consulting, or customer discovery with senior executives.

Benefits

  • Market-competitive compensation with location-based base pay ranges
  • New hire equity grant as well as annual refresh grants
  • Flex First remote work policy allowing employees to choose where they work
