Role Overview

World Labs is looking for a Senior Product Engineer who thrives at the intersection of product and engineering. The professional joining this team will possess strong full-stack coding skills, a deep appreciation for intuitive user experiences, and the technical expertise required to design end-to-end systems. Acting as a player-coach, this role serves as the engineering counterpart to product management, assisting with technical roadmapping, sprint execution, and supporting a talented product team.

Key Responsibilities

Partner directly with product leadership on architectural decisions, sprint planning, and technical execution.
Ship focused, user-facing applications and developer tooling end-to-end, taking full ownership of frontend, backend, and workflow design.
Design and build complex workflows around generative models, managing chained and parallel generation calls, long-running asynchronous operations, streaming results, caching, retries, and graceful degradation.
Maintain a high quality bar for correctness, performance, polish, and maintainability across all deliverables and code reviews.
Work directly with users and design partners, instrument shipped features, observe usage, and iterate rapidly.

Requirements

Six or more years of software engineering experience with a documented track record of end-to-end product ownership and production accountability.
Deep proficiency in modern web application technologies, specifically TypeScript and React, alongside strong backend and web architecture knowledge.
Fluency with AI-assisted development workflows backed by solid computer science fundamentals.
Experience building products on top of asynchronous, long-latency, or streaming application programming interfaces.
A product-minded approach focused on validating user needs cheaply and pivoting based on evidence.

Nice to Have

Experience in 3D graphics programming and shader development using web frameworks such as WebGL and three.js.
Background in building applications around generative image, video, or 3D artificial intelligence models.
Contributions to open-source graphics or machine learning projects.
Previous industry experience in VFX, gaming, 3D design, or similar fields focusing on high-fidelity visual outputs.
