Role Overview

The Senior Business Development and Operations Lead at World Labs drives the commercialization of cutting-edge robotics technology in San Francisco. This hands-on, technical role suits experienced professionals eager to bridge advanced spatial intelligence research and real-world enterprise deployments.

Key Responsibilities

Build deep familiarity with the robotics technology, its current capabilities, limitations, and the broader Physical AI ecosystem.
Conduct direct customer discovery to understand workflows, deployment environments, technical constraints, and unmet needs.
Establish robust feedback loops between enterprise clients, research teams, and engineering groups to guide scalable product development.
Shape and execute early commercial engagements, pilots, and strategic partnerships from initial conversation to closed deals.
Manage strategic opportunities end to end, covering technical evaluation, commercial structuring, negotiation, and contracting.
Establish the operational foundation for an early commercial function by creating pipelines, setting up processes, and unblocking dependencies.

Requirements

Bring eight or more years of professional experience in related industries.
Possess firsthand exposure to customers, products, or deployments in robotics, Physical AI, autonomous systems, simulation, or adjacent frontier technologies.
Demonstrate technical fluency to engage credibly with researchers and engineers while connecting technical features to market needs.
Understand the evolution of robotics technology, spanning traditional automation, computer-vision waves, and modern frontier models like imitation learning, reinforcement learning, and sim-to-real.
Proven track record of developing and closing complex B2B relationships from early conversations to signed agreements.
Strong judgment in market adoption, identifying high-pull use cases, and sequencing entry across environments like logistics, warehousing, industrial labs, automotive, and electronics manufacturing.
Ability to turn technical capabilities into repeatable commercial value, defining pricing, business models, and paths from demos to production deployments.
Skill in quantifying commercial decisions through credible pipeline forecasting and pilot pricing.
Experience acting as an early or founding commercial hire inside a highly technical organization.
