About this role

Role Overview

The Senior Partner Deployed Engineer role at Coder focuses on building the company's partner ecosystem across EMEA within the Revenue department. This remote position based in the United Kingdom suits a professional with extensive infrastructure and AI experience who enjoys operating with autonomy in a fast-moving startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the strategic technical thought partner to EMEA partner leadership, including practice leads, CTOs, and solutions architects at global systems integrators, regional cloud consultancies, and hyperscaler field teams.
Co-create sales plays tailored to each partner’s customer base, vertical focus, and services capabilities while authoring outcome proposals.
Develop and deliver workshops, Builder Labs, and partner-hosted enablement sessions as primary awareness and demand generation vehicles.
Intervene directly on high-value partner-attached deals across EMEA through co-sell calls, technical discovery, PoV scoping, and architecture reviews.
Transform bespoke partner enablement sessions into structured learning modules and certification tiers that scale across the EMEA partner base.
Produce better-together reference architectures for strategic partner combinations across cloud providers and AI platforms.
Codify successful partner engagements into repeatable go-to-market plays, including trigger conditions, discovery questions, and demo scripts.
Build AI-powered self-service tools that automate high-volume activities such as opportunity brief generators and workshop deployment kits.
Produce a monthly partner intelligence digest from EMEA engagements to distribute to product, engineering, and leadership teams.
Own EMEA-relevant portions of the joint technical integration roadmap and create partner relations content like technical blogs and conference talks.

Requirements

7+ years of experience in a combination of Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Field CTO, Technical Consulting, or Developer Relations roles.
Demonstrated experience helping partners or customers adopt products in emerging or undefined categories.
Proven hands-on experience designing and deploying cloud infrastructure on at least one major cloud provider with production-level Kubernetes and Terraform depth.
2+ years deploying or operating AI coding agents in a production or near-production environment with an understanding of agent loops and governance.
Ability to articulate the architectural difference between workspace-local agent tooling and a centralized agentic harness.
Experience working with channel or technology partners in a co-sell model across EMEA markets.
Experience building repeatable technical go-to-market assets that scaled beyond personal delivery.
Executive communication and Field CTO credibility to converse with partner CTOs and deal-level architects alike.
Strong written communication skills to produce PR/FAQs, architecture documents, and blog posts.
Self-directed, analytically minded, and comfortable operating with full autonomy.

Nice to Have

Prior Forward Deployed Engineer experience at a platform company or frontier AI lab.
Track record of public technical advocacy through blog posts, conference talks, or open-source contributions.
Experience with hyperscaler partner programs at an operational level.
Familiarity with European regulatory environments such as GDPR, DORA, NIS2, and AI Act compliance.
Experience with air-gapped or network-isolated deployments in European financial services, government, or defense contexts.
Background in AI governance frameworks, session audit requirements, or SIEM integration for AI workloads.
Experience with LLM gateway or proxy infrastructure in a multi-team or enterprise context.
Experience designing human-in-the-loop breakpoints or escalation patterns for autonomous agent workflows.
Kubernetes certification such as CKA, CKAD, or CKS.
Experience with Tailscale or similar overlay networking tools.
Open-source contributions, particularly in CNCF, MCP, or AI agent ecosystems.
Existing relationships with hyperscaler EMEA solutions architecture teams or European GSI technical practices.
