About this role

Zip is looking for a remote Senior Order to Cash Operations Manager to own and scale the end-to-end OTC function for consumption and subscription revenue models. This position is a great fit for an experienced financial operator who enjoys building automated workflows and driving operational transformation in a fast-paced environment.

Role Overview

As a Senior Order to Cash (OTC) Operations Manager at Zip, this is a hands-on, senior individual contributor role that offers broad exposure across Engineering, Product, Deal Desk, Sales, and Finance. The professional in this position will work directly with senior leadership to optimize cash flow, drive strategic initiatives, and build robust OTC system architecture to support future company growth. The ideal person prefers building over maintaining and feels comfortable deploying AI tools and automation to support scaling revenue.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the complete order to cash lifecycle starting from order creation through cash application, invoicing, and collections, while making sure contractual terms and delivery accuracy are met.
Oversee customer collections by monitoring AR aging, leading dunning processes, and directly reaching out to past-due accounts while partnering with Customer Success and Sales to resolve escalations.
Implement new billing and revenue systems by driving accounting requirements and maintaining stakeholder alignment regarding timing and scope.
Deploy AI-based and automation workflows across collections and invoicing to lower cycle times.
Partner with Deal Desk, Product, and GTM on new SKU launches to verify billing and accounting system readiness ahead of launch dates.
Handle the month-end close process for billings and bookings while collaborating with Operations and Deal Strategy teams for a smooth handoff to Revenue Accounting.
Work alongside Product and Engineering teams to guarantee usage data is accurately reported and captured in billing systems.
Monitor and execute strategies that minimize bad debt exposure, optimize cash flow, and maintain strong collections.
Act as the primary contact for external billing and AR audit inquiries.
Create standard operating procedures (SOPs), documentation, and playbooks for the entire order-to-cash operation.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA is noted as a plus).
At least 8 years of professional experience spanning order-to-cash, revenue accounting, accounts receivable, or billing, including background at a high-growth technology enterprise.
Prior experience handling hybrid revenue models that combine recurring subscriptions and consumption.
Advanced ability to use Google Sheets or Excel for data analysis and reconciliation.
Familiarity with Snowflake queries to retrieve and analyze data, with SQL proficiency considered a plus.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities alongside a history of partnering with cross-functional stakeholders.
Working knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition principles and their application to billing.
Experience in creating AI-driven workflows that involve multiple system integration points and data sources.
Comfort with performing hands-on, detailed operational work while managing strategic tasks.
Demonstrated success in overhauling or building finance systems and processes.
Familiarity with Salesforce, NetSuite, and modern collections and billing tools.
