As a senior machine learning platform engineer, you will own critical systems spanning stream processing, distributed training, and highly available inference services. You will design infrastructure that serves both predictive models and large language models while maintaining low latency and high availability at scale. This role exists to scale machine learning efficiently as the company grows, making it well-suited for a software engineer who enjoys distributed systems and infrastructure challenges.
What you will do
- Design and maintain reliable machine learning inference infrastructure for predictive models and large language models.
- Build and optimize low-latency streaming pipelines to deliver fresh feature data to production models.
- Improve distributed training infrastructure to help machine learning engineers process large datasets efficiently.
- Develop observability tools to monitor data quality and detect performance degradations in deployed models.
- Mentor junior engineers and elevate the engineering standards of the team.
What you need
- Bring at least five years of industry experience as a software engineer with demonstrated ownership of production distributed systems.
- Have built and operated low-latency data or machine learning infrastructure handling large-scale data processing.
- Demonstrate a track record of mentoring engineers and improving team quality through technical leadership and reviews.
- Possess sufficient familiarity with machine learning platform components to partner effectively with machine learning practitioners.
- Utilize generative AI responsibly with human oversight to deliver business-ready outcomes and efficiency improvements.
