MoneyLion is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join its Kuala Lumpur office on a remote basis. This opportunity suits an experienced professional who wants to build, scale, and maintain high-performing machine learning models within a dynamic financial technology environment.

Role Overview

The Kuala Lumpur office serves as the technology powerhouse for MoneyLion, focusing on innovative initiatives within a fast-paced setting. The Senior Machine Learning Engineer will translate business problems into effective machine learning solutions, prototype and experiment with different methods, and lead the automation and optimization of machine learning processes. The role plays a key part in defining and enforcing best practices for test-driven model development across the entire Data Science team.

Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of the end-to-end architecture, orchestration, and delivery of machine learning systems and pipelines, spanning from problem framing to production.
Drive sound system design decisions by leading technical discussions with MLOps engineers and data scientists.
Research, build, and design scalable machine learning models that generate measurable business value.
Execute, monitor, and design machine learning model experiments and metrics, leading to independent conclusions and recommendations.
Maintain, monitor, and optimize machine learning solutions in production while proactively resolving systemic issues.
Champion engineering best practices and test-driven development to minimize technical debt across machine learning systems.
Mentor junior machine learning engineers through code review feedback, guidance, and support for technical growth.

Requirements

Demonstrated history of developing, owning, and deploying machine learning models in production at scale.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities using textbook methods and novel viewpoints to navigate ambiguity independently.
Solid experience in building machine learning workflows, systems, and pipelines end-to-end.
Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management abilities.
Proven capacity to mentor colleagues and contribute to a collaborative engineering culture.

Skills and Tools

Programming languages: Python and SQL.
Frameworks and libraries: scikit-learn, XGBoost, and LightGBM.
MLOps tools familiarity including DVC, MLFlow, Metaflow, Seldon, or BentoML.
Infrastructure and deployment: AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
