About this role
Designing and building core AWS infrastructure forms the daily routine in this role, alongside owning significant components of the Encore-on-AWS environment build system. The Platform Engineering team builds and maintains the foundational landing zone, infrastructure as code, and golden-path tooling that product teams rely on to scale enterprise software solutions. This position exists to execute an all-in AWS strategy by migrating the flagship Encore ERP to a multi-account architecture, operating LabelTraxx as a multi-tenant SaaS platform, and retiring legacy private-cloud infrastructure.
Team members ship infrastructure, review peer work, and mentor engineers while coordinating closely with U.S.-based architects and leadership. What you will do
- Design and implement scalable, secure AWS infrastructure across multi-account organizations and customer-hosting models.
- Author and maintain reusable Terraform modules and golden-path infrastructure as code patterns for engineering teams.
- Build and harden continuous integration and deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions for infrastructure and application delivery.
- Operate and optimize containerized and serverless workloads alongside relational databases at production scale.
- Implement cloud security best practices including identity management, secrets handling, network segmentation, and encryption standards.
- Design validation gates and reusable patterns for AI-assisted infrastructure changes while measuring productivity impacts.
- Mentor earlier-career platform engineers in infrastructure as code, observability, and secure delivery practices.
What you need
- Seven or more years of hands-on experience in cloud, platform, or DevOps engineering with substantial AWS depth.
- Expert working knowledge of core AWS services in multi-account environments.
- Strong Terraform expertise, including designing reusable modules consumed by other teams.
- Proven software engineering ability in Python or a similar language applied to platform automation.
- Experience with GitHub Actions or equivalent continuous integration and deployment tools.
- Strong grasp of networking, DNS, TLS, and cloud security architecture.
- Track record of effective collaboration in distributed global teams.
Nice to have
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional, Solutions Architect Professional, CKA, or Terraform Associate
- Experience with account-per-customer or multi-tenant SaaS hosting models, or ERP-class workload migration
- Experience with AWS Control Tower, landing zones, and account vending automation
- FinOps practice experience including tagging governance and cost allocation
- Experience operating AI/LLM workloads or building agentic automation under governance controls
