CodeRabbit is seeking a Senior Applied AI Engineer to join the team in San Francisco or remotely. This full-time position suits experienced professionals with a background in machine learning and generative AI who want to build advanced tools that shape the future of software development.

Key Responsibilities

Architect and optimize LLM-driven systems designed for detailed and accurate code reviews.
Construct and refine agentic workflows capable of reasoning across multiple steps and contextual inputs.
Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge bases and retrieval pipelines, incorporating semantic search, embeddings, and chunking strategies.
Release generative AI models and underlying pipelines directly into production environments while tracking ongoing performance metrics.
Partner with cross-functional teams to guarantee that artificial intelligence outputs match specific user requirements and product objectives.
Review human-in-the-loop feedback alongside usage statistics to continuously upgrade system output.
Implement reward modeling, ranking, and RLHF methodologies to enhance response accuracy over time.
Monitor emerging generative AI breakthroughs and translate them into practical product features.

Requirements

Holds a degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or possesses equivalent practical experience.
Brings at least 5 years of professional background applying machine learning or LLM-based architectures within real-world production settings.
Demonstrates a minimum of 2 years of targeted industry involvement centered on generative AI.
Possesses robust coding capabilities in both Python and TypeScript.
Familiarity with AI frameworks and tooling such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI APIs, and vector databases like Lancedb or Pinecone.
Skilled in advanced prompt engineering techniques.
Shows strong data fluency with the ability to draw actionable insights from logs, telemetry, structured feedback, and user signals.
Maintains a practical mindset geared toward translating research concepts into concrete product solutions.
Experienced in collaborating across design, engineering, and product departments to launch production-grade systems.

Nice to Have

Background in enhancing retrieval performance and optimizing RAG architectures using search strategies or custom embeddings.
Practical familiarity with behavioral policy tuning, reward modeling, or RLHF pipelines involving large language models.
Previous involvement embedding LLM solutions into developer environments or collaborative workflows.
