The position requires investigating how architectural choices impact scalability, energy efficiency, robustness, and latency in real-world deployments.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct advanced research in neural network architecture design to elevate state-of-the-art alternative architectures including state space models and efficient transformers.
Create novel architectures that enhance model quality, inference efficiency, and adaptability across cloud and on-device deployment environments.
Explore and develop features like statefulness, long-range memory, and innovative conditioning mechanisms to improve model generalization.
Analyze how architectural decisions influence performance trade-offs, covering latency, scalability, robustness, and energy efficiency.
Build new evaluation frameworks and tools to benchmark architectural innovations in both research and production settings.
Partner with cross-functional teams to turn architectural research into scalable, high-impact systems for practical use cases.

Requirements

Extensive expertise in architecture design, featuring practical experience researching or deploying advanced models like state space models, transformers, or alternative variants.
Solid comprehension of how architectures interact with system constraints for cloud or on-device deployment.
Demonstrated ability to design architectures balancing quality, efficiency, and adaptability across text, audio, and vision modalities.
Familiarity with generative modeling paradigms including diffusion and autoregressive models, alongside statefulness and conditioning in deep learning.
A proven research history in top-tier machine learning venues or demonstrable contributions to cutting-edge model architectures.
Exceptional analytical capabilities paired with strong programming skills in deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow.

Nice to Have

Prior publications or research specifically focused on state space models, efficient Transformers, or alternative architectures.
Practical experience or research background in designing multi-modal system architectures.
Previous experience working in early-stage startups or fast-paced R&D environments.
