Role Overview

Fireworks AI is looking for a Product Manager to drive the strategy, specifications, and execution for their training product line. In this role, the product manager will collaborate closely with research, inference, and training teams while engaging directly with enterprise clients and AI startups to deliver high-impact training solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Direct the roadmap, strategic vision, and performance metrics for the training product across API, UI, and CLI interfaces.
Engage with enterprise users and AI-native startups executing real-world training jobs to identify pain points and build productized capabilities.
Scale bespoke workflows from applied machine learning teams into repeatable, self-serve developer products.
Collaborate with product marketing, field teams, and sales to introduce training features, manage pricing, and produce documentation.

Requirements

Possess between 2 to 8+ years of product management experience focused on technical or developer-oriented products.
Hold a technical foundation demonstrated through a CS or EE degree, hands-on production engineering, or equivalent experience.
Understand the post-training lifecycle including dataset curation, SFT, LoRA and PEFT, reinforcement learning methods, and evaluation.
Show proven end-to-end ownership of a product area from initial strategy to launch and metric tracking.
Demonstrate exceptional written communication skills for creating clear specifications, launch posts, and customer explanations.
Maintain high comfort with ambiguity and a strong bias toward shipping products rapidly.

Nice to Have

Hands-on experience fine-tuning models and deploying them into real-world applications.
Background working with machine learning platforms, MLOps, or AI infrastructure products such as training platforms or evaluation tools.
Familiarity with reinforcement fine-tuning details including reward modeling, rollout environments, and agent-training workflows.
Knowledge of GPU economics covering training cost, throughput, and quality trade-offs.
Background in open-source ecosystems or developer communities.
Early-stage startup or founding experience.
