Product Manager, Interactive Avatars (Staff/Principal-level)
About this role
Synthesia builds an AI video platform that enables businesses to create visual communication products, including an interactive avatar layer for real-time conversations. The product team is currently taking Interactive Avatars from a closed beta phase into a robust platform used by external developers for sales reps, support agents, and interactive trainers.
As the Staff or Principal Product Manager for Interactive Avatars, you will own the end-to-end developer-facing API, SDK, and integration experience while defining the roadmap for general availability. You will collaborate directly with engineering and research teams to balance latency, quality, and cost trade-offs, while also partnering with commercial teams to establish packaging and pricing models. This role suits someone experienced in building developer platforms who thrives in early-stage, ambiguity-driven environments and understands the nuances of real-time human-computer interaction.
What you will do
- Own the end-to-end Interactive Avatar API, covering the developer-facing surface, integration patterns, and the path from closed beta to general availability.
- Engage closely with beta developers and teams to understand integration friction points, real-time behaviors, and production readiness criteria.
- Translate user feedback and product metrics into a clear roadmap, determining what to build and in what order.
- Partner with engineering and research teams to provide clear specifications and make sound trade-offs regarding quality, latency, and cost.
- Collaborate with go-to-market teams to define packaging, pricing, and commercial strategies for the real-time API.
- Define and track product metrics related to adoption, integration success, reliability, and commercial signals.
What you need
- Bring five or more years of product management experience with direct ownership of a developer-facing API, SDK, or platform product.
- Demonstrate the ability to operate comfortably in an early-stage, zero-to-one environment where discovery and delivery happen simultaneously.
- Possess strong technical fluency to hold credible conversations with engineers about real-time systems, latency, and architectural trade-offs.
- Exhibit strong written communication skills for creating actionable specs, strategy documents, and API design rationales.
- Be based in Seattle or open to regular in-person collaboration with the Seattle-anchored team.

- Real-time or streaming media product experience
- Conversational AI or applied-AI product experience
