Role Overview

Fireworks AI is looking for a Product Designer who is passionate about transforming intricate artificial intelligence infrastructure into delightful developer experiences. In this position, the designer takes ownership of the complete design lifecycle, from initial research and prototyping to high-fidelity execution and post-launch iteration. The successful candidate shapes how users deploy models, monitor inference, and construct artificial intelligence agents on the platform. By partnering closely with engineers and product managers, the designer helps turn powerful technical capabilities into streamlined, accessible interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end design process, encompassing user research, prototyping, high-fidelity mockups, and data-driven iteration.
Translate complicated technical workflows like model deployment, inference monitoring, and agent orchestration into clear and usable interfaces.
Build, scale, and maintain the company design system to ensure visual consistency across the platform.
Collaborate directly with engineering and product management teams from the conceptual stage onward.
Utilize artificial intelligence-powered design tools to accelerate workflows and prototype rapidly.
Optimize developer experience at every touchpoint, from initial onboarding to production environments.

Requirements

Bring a minimum of 5 years of professional product design experience, ideally within cloud platforms, developer tools, infrastructure, or complex B2B systems.
Present a robust portfolio demonstrating systems-level thinking and expert problem-solving for hard user experience challenges.
Possess advanced proficiency in Figma alongside fluency in complementary tools such as FigJam or Framer.
Demonstrate startup experience with a proven ability to manage ambiguity and own product areas independently.
Maintain a genuine curiosity about artificial intelligence, utilizing large language models and following industry developments.
Exhibit strong communication skills capable of clearly explaining design rationale to technical and leadership audiences.

Nice to Have

Background in designing interfaces for developer platforms, APIs, or major cloud infrastructure services including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Familiarity with front-end development and modern design-to-code workflows.
Previous exposure to agent-driven user experience patterns involving human interaction with autonomous systems.
Ability to transform technical constraints into creative design opportunities.
