Role Overview

Redwood Software seeks a Principal Software Engineer to provide technical leadership and strategic direction for the RunMyJobs platform. The position acts as a senior individual contributor without direct people management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and implementation of distributed systems within the Java ecosystem, prioritizing resilience, low latency, and fault tolerance.
Apply advanced prompt engineering techniques to maximize generative AI tools for writing tests, drafting documentation, and refactoring code.
Oversee and enhance CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments using Kubernetes and Docker across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Collaborate with product management, engineering, finance, and customer success teams to deliver new functionality and resolve complex technical issues.
Provide hands-on technical guidance, conduct code and design reviews, and mentor engineers across all levels.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
More than eight years of software development experience, including three to five years in a senior or staff software engineer capacity.
Proven experience in workload automation, job scheduling, and orchestration technologies.
Proficiency in Java, microservice architecture, containerization, and RESTful APIs.
Demonstrated ability to use AI-powered developer tools in production environments.
