Role Overview

Redwood Software seeks a Director Engineering to direct the architectural direction, execution, and strategy for an enterprise cloud platform. The professional will guide multiple groups of engineers, oversee product engineering ecosystems, and embed artificial intelligence throughout the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Direct and mentor multiple engineering squads tasked with creating enterprise software products.
Formulate and implement the technical roadmap, development standards, and architecture strategy.
Oversee the creation of secure, resilient, cloud-native software platforms.
Supply technical guidance covering backend systems, frontend layers, application programming interfaces, and microservices.
Implement artificial intelligence and generative artificial intelligence tools to enhance testing, automation, and development output.
Collaborate closely with security, product management, DevOps, and additional cross-functional units.
Set rigorous standards for design, testing, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and reliability.
Oversee operational excellence, product quality, and delivery milestones.

Requirements

Fifteen or more years of professional background in software or product engineering.
Demonstrated capability managing large, multi-team engineering organizations.
Extensive experience creating enterprise software-as-a-service products.
Proficiency in full-stack architecture and modern application design.
Hands-on expertise using Java, Spring Boot, or comparable backend technologies.
Practical background utilizing cloud infrastructure platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Experience implementing development operations, automated testing, and continuous delivery pipelines.
Demonstrated history of integrating artificial intelligence or generative artificial intelligence into software operations.

Nice to Have

Experience working with large language models, AI agents, or developer productivity tools.
Background in embedding artificial intelligence directly into enterprise products.
Experience managing distributed engineering teams across multiple geographic locations.
Knowledge of workflow automation and enterprise orchestration platforms.
