Role Overview

The Engineering Manager, RMJ (AI Accelerated) position at Redwood Software involves leading multiple development teams at the Toronto hub. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the manager shapes technical strategy, scales engineering operations, and builds SaaS business process automation platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with the Head of Engineering to provide technical leadership for core RunMyJobs products and services.
Collaborate with Product Management, Sales, Customer Success, and executive leadership to align engineering priorities with business goals.
Improve engineering processes for Agile product development, continuous delivery, and cloud-native development.
Lead, mentor, and develop engineers supporting career growth and succession planning.
Lead the design and implementation of large-scale distributed systems focusing on resilience, low-latency, and fault tolerance within the Java ecosystem.
Apply advanced prompt engineering techniques to maximize generative AI tool efficacy for unit and integration tests, technical documentation, and code refactoring suggestions.
Oversee automated build, test, and deployment pipelines using Kubernetes and Docker in cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Manage team capacity, hiring, and resource allocation alongside stakeholders.

Requirements

Minimum of 6 years of software development experience with exposure to coaching or leading software developers.
Proven success building and scaling enterprise SaaS products in automation, ERP, or workflow orchestration domains.
Strong technical background in backend software development, distributed systems, and RESTful APIs.
Experience leading teams building cloud-native applications on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Track record of leading Agile software development processes and cross-functional product delivery.
Experience in operationalizing DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and continuous cloud delivery best practices.
Demonstrated ability to use AI-powered developer tools in a production environment.
