About this role

Role Overview

The Principal Security Engineer, Product & Infrastructure at Pigment is a hands-on technical role that owns the security roadmap for product systems, infrastructure, and CI/CD environments. Based remotely in France, this position suits an experienced security professional with a background in engineering, pentesting, or consulting who wants to write code, threat model services, and triage vulnerabilities directly. Working within a growing security team and reporting directly to the CISO, this role focuses deeply on technical security domains without people management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Design robust security features directly into the product and strengthen defense-in-depth methodologies across the entire platform.
Perform threat modeling on new services prior to deployment and make critical architectural decisions to mitigate long-term risks.
Review code, system architecture, and configurations to deliver practical solutions that balance risk management against business objectives.
Execute the internal assurance program, encompassing code reviews, architecture checks, red team exercises, and bug bounty initiatives.
Manage the vulnerability lifecycle from initial detection and scoring through to mitigation validation and metric tracking.
Build and enhance detection capabilities alongside engineering teams by developing actionable rules and incident response playbooks.
Lead comprehensive security investigations into production environments from the initial signal to root cause analysis.
Establish technical standards for secure software development life cycles (SDLC), providing guidance and paved paths for engineering teams.

Requirements

Minimum of 8 years of professional experience working as a Security Engineer, Pentester, or Security Consultant.
Demonstrated depth and breadth in product security, infrastructure security, or both.
Proven track record of owning an end-to-end security roadmap for a technical product or platform.
Experience driving security initiatives through engineering teams using technical credibility rather than authority.
Hands-on technical background spanning application development, database management, networking, and web technologies.
Fluent English language proficiency.
