Role Overview

Overjet is seeking an operational backbone for its People team to handle core human resources infrastructure, multi-state payroll, and employee onboarding. Reporting directly to the Director of People & Performance, this role offers direct visibility into business operations and requires a proactive systems thinker. The professional in this position will utilize modern AI tools to streamline workflows, maintain data integrity, and support a rapidly growing team dedicated to transforming dental AI.

Key Responsibilities

Own the Rippling platform end-to-end, including configurations, data integrity, workflows, and reporting.
Execute accurate and timely multi-state US payroll cycles and coordinate international Employer of Record onboarding.
Administer employee benefits programs, manage open enrollment, and handle carrier relationships and inquiries.
Oversee the complete onboarding and offboarding lifecycle for employees, from pre-day-one setup to asset retrieval and final pay coordination.
Serve as the primary point of contact for daily employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, leave, and company policies.
Manage San Mateo office operations two days per week, covering supply ordering, event coordination, vendor management, and meeting technology troubleshooting.
Build and maintain integrations across HR tools while utilizing artificial intelligence applications to automate repetitive tasks and draft communications.

Requirements

Four to five years of hands-on experience in People Operations or as an HR Generalist, ideally within a high-growth startup environment.
Demonstrated ownership of Rippling, including module configuration, payroll execution, and workflow building.
Direct experience running multi-state US payroll alongside familiarity with international EoR platforms like Deel.
Active user of AI tools such as Claude for daily task execution and productivity enhancement.
Prior experience managing benefits administration and supporting open enrollment processes.
Proven discretion regarding sensitive information, compensation metrics, and employee relations.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with Ashby and adjacent people management software tools.
Prior background in building automated employee response workflows using modern service platforms.
