Role Overview

The MTS Security position at Fireworks AI in San Mateo is an opportunity to design, implement, and operate vital security controls across advanced AI platforms and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

Design and develop security-focused software and platform capabilities to safeguard customer data, models, and services across multi-cloud environments.
Perform thorough security reviews of cloud-native architectures, including Kubernetes clusters and distributed data stores, while building continuous monitoring systems.
Integrate automated scanning, policy enforcement, and secure deployment workflows directly into CI/CD pipelines.
Create custom in-house security tooling and automation using a build-over-buy philosophy for optimal control and scalability.
Establish and run a comprehensive vulnerability management program to mitigate risks across applications, containers, and cloud infrastructure.
Manage security operations by handling detection engineering, alert triage, incident response, and post-incident root cause analysis.
Embed compliance and regulatory standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and GDPR into infrastructure and product layers.

Requirements

Three to seven years of professional experience in software engineering or security engineering focusing on cloud-native systems.
Proficiency in Python and/or Go for designing production-grade systems.
Strong comprehension of cloud-native architectures and security practices, particularly within Google Cloud Platform.
Practical, hands-on experience working with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized production environments.
Familiarity with security tooling inside managed CI/CD environments like GitHub Actions or CircleCI.
Solid working background in Linux environments, covering system administration, debugging, and command-line automation.
Knowledge of modern identity and access management controls including SAML, OAuth, OIDC, SSO, and RBAC.

Nice to Have

Experience building secure multi-cloud deployments and zero-trust architectures.
Background in securing large-scale Kubernetes platforms, multi-tenant isolation, and node hardening.
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Python.
Practical exposure to securing LLM and machine learning platforms, model inference infrastructure, or GPU clusters.
Experience designing detection engineering pipelines across network telemetry, cloud audit logs, and application signals.
Exposure to compliance frameworks and tools like Vanta, ISO 42001, and PCI-DSS.
