This position suits technical professionals with extensive deployment experience who want to design, build, and ship working solutions directly on site.

Role Overview

As a Mission Engineer at Axon, the primary focus is owning the full lifecycle of customer outcomes within strategic accounts located in Atlanta. This is not a traditional relationship management job; it requires a hands-on builder to discover agency problems onsite and ship working tools directly using Axon's platform. Success is measured entirely by working solutions in production and tangible operational outcomes rather than slideware or activity.

Key Responsibilities

Discover agency challenges onsite and translate them into compliant, buildable solutions tied directly to mission outcomes.
Design and ship working tools on Axon's platform, including AI agents, workflows, automations, integrations, and data pipelines with real users and data.
Configure, integrate, and extend core systems like DEMS, Fusus, AI Era, and Records within the agency environment.
Iterate in the field until adoption sticks and document reusable patterns for other accounts.
Apply responsible innovation guardrails, ensuring compliance with CJIS, evidence integrity, and privacy standards.
Troubleshoot issues onsite and coordinate root-cause resolution across Product, Engineering, Support, and Services teams.
Maintain a consistent onsite presence approximately 3 to 4 days per week, tightly connected to agency operations.
Lead QBRs, mission reviews, and strategic planning while partnering with Sales on account strategy and post-sales onboarding.

Requirements

Typically 8+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles, program management, operational transformation, or complex deployment environments.
Proven builder background with hands-on experience shipping working automations, agents, workflows, integrations, or AI-enabled tools in customer environments.
Comfort working across diverse technical and operational domains, spanning hardware, software, cloud, and integrated systems.
Strong communication skills capable of bridging technical teams and senior stakeholders, including command staff in mission-critical environments.
Full ownership mentality to navigate ambiguity and competing priorities across departments.
Ability to obtain and maintain CJIS compliance and adhere to strict security standards.

Nice to Have

Former law enforcement or military experience.
Experience working in public safety, corrections, or other mission-critical operational environments.
Familiarity with digital workflows, Records, Evidence, or integrated public safety ecosystems.
Background in forward-deployed engineering, solutions architecture, or large-scale operational transformation.
