About this role

Harvey needs a leader to scale internal business systems and establish a foundational engineering presence in Dublin. This role solves the challenge of supporting rapid international growth by building custom applications, integrations, and agentic workflows that empower internal operations. As the first Business Technology leader in the region, the person in this position will inherit a small nucleus and hire out the team while remaining deeply hands-on in code and architecture.

Daily responsibilities include managing Enterprise Application Engineers and AI Enablement Engineers, shaping technical standards, and partnering with cross-functional leaders across finance, people, and go-to-market functions. The ideal candidate functions as a working manager who combines years of enterprise platform engineering background with direct experience applying large language models or AI agents to production environments. Someone who thrives in high-intensity environments, values simplicity, and possesses a strong bias for action will do well here.

What you will do

  • Build, mentor, and grow a Dublin-based team of Enterprise Application Engineers and AI Enablement Engineers.
  • Maintain a hands-on approach by designing systems, writing code, reviewing pull requests, and unblocking production issues.
  • Manage the reliability, security, and lifecycle of custom internal applications and integrations connecting core enterprise platforms.
  • Deploy internal AI tooling, agent architectures, and model context protocol servers to automate business operations safely.
  • Partner with stakeholders across multiple departments to translate ambiguous operational needs into scoped engineering projects.
  • Establish robust engineering practices for testing, deployment, and monitoring without adding unnecessary process.
  • Serve as the senior technology anchor for the EMEA office while coordinating closely with US-based stakeholders.
  • Evaluate requirements to decide whether solutions require configuration, vendor tooling, integrations, or custom code.

What you need

  • Minimum 2 years of engineering management experience paired with at least 7 years of hands-on work in enterprise applications, integrations, or internal platforms.
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, TypeScript, or Go, alongside experience designing API-based integrations.
  • Familiarity with the enterprise SaaS ecosystem including CRM, HRIS, ERP, and identity provider systems.
  • Demonstrated history of deploying LLMs or AI agents to production with practical knowledge of evaluation and guardrails.
  • Proven track record of recruiting, developing, and elevating the technical capabilities of engineering teams.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders across global environments.

Nice to have

  • Experience standing up a Business Technology or internal tools function in a new geographic region.
  • Background at a high-growth B2B SaaS organization scaling past 2,000 employees.
  • Hands-on work with MCP, agent orchestration frameworks, or LLM gateway and evaluation tooling.
  • Fluency with agentic coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex.
  • Experience with enterprise iPaaS platforms and event-driven integration patterns.
