Role Overview

Pangram Labs is currently seeking a talented Machine Learning Engineer to join their research team in Brooklyn, New York. This full-time, on-site position focuses on developing sophisticated AI detection systems to protect authenticity and integrate advanced technology into everyday applications.

Key Responsibilities

Construct robust data pipelines capable of mining the internet at scale and producing millions of synthetic text examples for training detection models.

Oversee distributed infrastructure designed for multi-GPU large language model training.

Profile and optimize both training and inference code for maximum efficiency.

Implement high-performance inference pipelines to serve large language models at scale.

Participate actively in research efforts, publish findings, and contribute innovative ideas to the team.

Requirements

Hold a Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.

Possess robust programming capabilities utilizing Python alongside modern machine learning frameworks.

Demonstrate a solid grasp of transformer architectures and fundamental large language model concepts.

Maintain comfort operating fluidly across both research and engineering domains.

Nice to Have

Background in NVIDIA GPU programming and CUDA.

Familiarity with distributed training tools like DeepSpeed, Ray, or FSDL.

Practical knowledge of inference frameworks including vLLM.

Competence in large-scale data processing using Spark or Beam, alongside orchestration via Airflow.

Experience dealing with MLOps, experiment tracking, and DevOps utilities.

Exposure to cloud computing environments such as AWS or GCP.
