As the Head of Product Security, the incoming leader will shape the product security roadmap, manage a growing team of engineers, and embed secure development practices across the entire organization. Reporting to the Senior Director of Product Security, this person will collaborate closely with product, platform, and infrastructure teams to influence architecture, drive automation, and protect critical production surfaces.
Ideal candidates bring a strong background in modern application security combined with demonstrated experience mentoring technical talent. Success in the role requires balancing high-intensity execution with clear judgment, helping engineers navigate complex security tradeoffs while scaling developer tooling for a rapidly expanding platform.
What you will do
- Partner directly with the Senior Director of Product Security to translate broad security strategies into focused priorities and measurable outcomes.
- Hire, mentor, and develop Product Security Engineers while fostering clear ownership and collaboration.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, and Security to align security investments with business goals.
- Manage team planning, prioritization, and delivery for defined areas of the company's production surface.
- Provide technical direction on architecture reviews, threat modeling, and remediation strategies.
- Scale team impact through automation, developer tooling, and secure-by-default patterns.
What you need
- Experience managing Product Security or Application Security engineers at a growing technology company.
- A strong engineering background with deep expertise in modern application security and cloud-native architectures.
- A track record of delivering security improvements through engineering, automation, and close partnership with development teams.
- Experience hiring, mentoring, and developing security engineers, with a focus on technical growth and clear ownership.
- The ability to translate broader security goals into focused priorities and measurable outcomes.
