Role Overview

The Head of Order to Cash role at Fireworks AI in San Mateo involves owning and scaling end-to-end billing operations across enterprise subscription and consumption-based billing models. This permanent full-time position suits an experienced financial operations leader who wants to drive operational excellence in enterprise AI infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end billing operations for enterprise subscription, consumption-based, and hybrid pricing models to ensure accurate invoice generation.
Oversee the complete Order-to-Cash lifecycle, encompassing order management, contract review, collections support, and cash application coordination.
Supervise complex usage-based billing processes, including metering validation, usage reconciliation, rating, pricing, and invoice generation.
Collaborate with Revenue Operations to operationalize new pricing models, product launches, and commercial offerings while improving the Quote-to-Cash ecosystem.
Partner with Revenue Accounting to support ASC 606 compliance, accurate revenue recognition, and financial close activities.
Prepare documentation supporting SOX controls and internal compliance requirements while serving as the primary contact during external financial audits.
Partner with Finance Systems and Engineering teams on automation initiatives, system enhancements, and operational dashboards.

Requirements

Hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
Bring 8+ years of professional experience in Billing Operations, Revenue Operations, Finance Operations, or Order-to-Cash functions.
Demonstrate deep expertise managing both enterprise subscription billing and consumption or usage-based billing models.
Possess strong knowledge of the complete Order-to-Cash lifecycle and billing controls.
Have experience supporting ASC 606 revenue recognition and partnering with Revenue Accounting.
Show proven experience supporting Big Four external audits and operating within SOX-controlled environments.
Demonstrate familiarity with billing and financial systems such as Salesforce, CPQ, NetSuite, and Orb.
Exhibit advanced Excel and analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and reconcile data.

Nice to Have

Possess a CPA or equivalent accounting background.
Bring experience working in high-growth SaaS, cloud infrastructure, or AI companies.
Have experience implementing or scaling billing platforms and ERP systems.
Show familiarity with API-based metering and usage billing architectures.
Possess experience with SQL, Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
