Role Overview

The Head of Content will oversee the complete content lifecycle, moving strategy from concept to production while ensuring clear communication with machine learning engineers and enterprise buyers. This position requires working from the San Francisco or San Jose office four days per week, with Tuesday designated as a remote work day. The incoming leader will define editorial standards, build efficient production systems, and manage organic discovery through search and generative engine optimization.

Key Responsibilities

Design and execute the content roadmap, aligning materials with the complete buyer journey across awareness, education, evaluation, and retention.
Establish strict quality standards and manage the end-to-end production system, including intake, drafting, review, and launch schedules.
Integrate artificial intelligence tools into content workflows to speed up production while maintaining high standards.
Drive discovery through search engine optimization, generative engine optimization, keyword research, and content gap analysis.
Develop executive thought leadership and shape technical narratives for machine learning engineers and data center operators.
Partner with technical product marketing and growth teams to support major product launches and campaigns.
Measure performance metrics including traffic, engagement, pipeline influence, and content-assisted conversion to guide future strategy.
Build, hire, and mentor the expanding content organization.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience leading a content function, managing teams, and delivering measurable results.
Strong editorial taste with the ability to distinguish between technically accurate text and genuinely valuable reading material.
Deep curiosity about artificial intelligence, model releases, research papers, and technical infrastructure requirements.
Practical experience with AI-assisted content production tools and a clear understanding of their limitations.
Systems-thinking capability to design comprehensive content architectures that link technical guides, benchmarks, and case studies.
Ability to balance long-term roadmap strategy with hands-on execution and writing support.
Strong cross-functional leadership skills to synthesize inputs from researchers, engineers, designers, and marketers.
Rigorous approach to defining success metrics, instrumenting tracking, and acting on data insights.

Experience writing or editing for machine learning practitioners at an infrastructure company, research lab, or developer tools startup.
