Frontdesk AI is seeking a Fullstack Engineer to join their team in San Francisco for a full-time position. This high-ownership role is ideal for a developer with several years of experience who wants to build consumer AI products from the ground up.

Role Overview

The Fullstack Engineer will function as a core technical builder for the Known product surface, handling everything from mobile applications to backend matching systems and third-party API integrations. Working directly with the founding team covering AI, product, and design, the successful candidate will turn ambitious product concepts into production-ready code that offers a polished consumer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Create and deliver rapid, accessible mobile experiences utilizing React Native, encompassing onboarding, real-time messaging, and match discovery features.

Develop and support backend systems using Node.js and TypeScript, covering REST APIs, WebSocket real-time chat, and WebRTC audio and video capabilities.

Connect third-party services such as Apple and Google Pay, reservation platforms, SMS notifications, and LLMs from OpenAI or Anthropic.

Work alongside AI and ML specialists to display model data like compatibility scores and conversational agents through clean user interfaces and fast APIs.

Manage cloud infrastructure and deployments to guarantee security, scalability, and system reliability.

Set up analytics and tracking tools to monitor product health, user engagement, and conversion rates continuously.

Requirements

Three to five years of hands-on experience creating production fullstack or mobile software, preferably within startups or consumer tech.

Advanced skills in TypeScript, React, React Native, and Node.js.

Demonstrated ability to design and scale secure, maintainable RESTful APIs.

Solid understanding of Postgres, including database design, indexing, performance tuning, and writing queries.

Familiarity with cloud infrastructure platforms like AWS, GCP, Vercel, or Railway.

Proficiency in contemporary development workflows including Git, CI/CD pipelines, feature flags, monitoring, and debugging.

Deep appreciation for exceptional user experience, product quality, speed, and attention to detail.

Nice to Have

Practical experience using WebSockets and WebRTC for live communication features.
