Role Overview

As the initial engineering hire, the selected candidate collaborates directly with the founders to construct the central intelligence engine that modernizes manufacturing facilities. The position requires working in person four to five days a week in the San Francisco Bay Area, with relocation options available. Expected weekly hours range from fifty to seventy, balancing high commitment with personal pursuits. This role centers on creating systems that translate fragmented industrial data into actionable institutional intelligence across multiple enterprise sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and deploy production-grade software across the entire technology stack to support numerous enterprise clients with high reliability.

Establish and maintain robust cloud infrastructure to ensure continuous, dependable operation.

Handle complex data workflows by cleaning and structuring messy, real-world operational information.

Drive foundational architecture decisions and collaborate closely with company leadership to advance the core AI reasoning platform.

Requirements

Two to three years of minimum prior professional experience.

Demonstrated background in deploying and maintaining full-stack production code at scale for enterprise customers.

Strong cloud infrastructure capabilities, with a preference for Azure familiarity.

Extensive practice handling data pipelines and refining inconsistent real-world information.

AI-native coding approach utilizing modern development accelerators like Claude Code.

Strong generalist programming abilities with a strong backend focus.

Nice to Have

Practical experience shipping end-to-end production artificial intelligence, machine learning, or large language model systems beyond research prototypes.

Familiarity with LLM tool orchestration, chain design, agent delegation, prompt engineering, and evaluation methods.

Hands-on background connecting enterprise resource planning, manufacturing execution systems, and data historians such as Microsoft Business Central or SAP.

Working knowledge of relational and SQL databases.

Understanding of permission models, data governance, SOC2 compliance, and GDPR.

Experience interacting with IT departments to satisfy security requirements for enterprise clients.
