Role Overview

Frontdesk AI is seeking a Founding Engineer, AI to join the Shiplight AI team in San Francisco on a full-time, hybrid basis. This role is ideal for a hands-on builder with startup experience eager to help scale enterprise automation and shape the future of AI-powered software development.

Key Responsibilities

Construct core systems that allow AI agents to independently test and evaluate complex applications.

Create, test, and deploy agentic browser and device automation features.

Collaborate closely with the founders to shape the technical architecture, product roadmap, and company culture.

Test innovative context engineering methodologies to enhance reasoning and flexibility.

Execute rapidly from initial prototype to production release with significant autonomy and ownership.

Requirements

Bring one to three years of startup experience within the artificial intelligence domain.

Demonstrate strong engineering fundamentals combined with a distinct product mindset.

Possess a mission-driven mindset, curiosity, resourcefulness, and a collaborative approach to open technical debates.

Thrive in an early-stage setting characterized by high speed and uncertainty.

Desire to evolve into a technical leader and deliver significant impact at an early stage.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with browser automation, mobile automation, or quality assurance tooling.

Comfortable operating across the entire technology stack, encompassing backend, frontend, and artificial intelligence interfaces.
