Role Overview

Frontdesk AI is hiring a full-time Founding AI Data Engineer for the Optexity department in Bengaluru. This position suits an ambitious researcher who wants to work with exclusive clinical reasoning data and shape the technical direction of an early-stage startup.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze proprietary clinical data from hospital and clinic partners to guide model and product development.
Create clinical reasoning models designed to optimize clinic and physician workflows.
Develop and release benchmarks that highlight the limitations of current large language models in clinical reasoning tasks.
Assess computer-use models during real-world tasks.
Manage the complete training and evaluation pipeline from start to finish.
Transform open-ended questions into functional models with little initial structure.
Document discoveries through technical reports and research papers.

Requirements

Demonstrated research background with the ability to define new problems independently.
Experience training models beyond simple API fine-tuning, alongside strong fluency in Python.
Bachelor degree in computer science or related technical fields.
High motivation for tackling ambiguous, open-ended challenges.
Preference for publishing research as well as shipping products.
Strong sense of personal ownership and a desire to work in a fast-moving startup environment.

Nice to Have

Previous experience as a founder or founding engineer.
Strong product intuition and design sense.
Background handling healthcare datasets.
Experience building products powered by large language models.
Long-term ambitions of launching an independent company.
