Figma is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join its founding team in San Francisco, CA, New York, NY, or remotely within the United States. This senior or staff-level engineering position is ideal for technical professionals who enjoy working directly with strategic customers to tackle complex enterprise adoption hurdles. Candidates will thrive in ambiguity, collaborate closely with internal product and engineering groups, and help shape scalable solutions for large-scale environments.
Key Responsibilities
Professionals in this role embed directly with strategic clients to navigate codebases, developer environments, and unique technical constraints. Responsibilities include preparing enterprise design systems for AI tools, deploying new features into live environments, and conducting technical discovery to scope rapid paths to value. Team members debug integration obstacles involving CI and git workflows, build LLM-powered workflows, and convert custom solutions into reusable playbooks and actionable product feedback.
Requirements
Applicants must have at least five years of experience shipping production software end-to-end, alongside customer-facing collaboration. The position requires strong engineering fundamentals, adaptability across unfamiliar codebases, and hands-on familiarity with design systems and design-to-code workflows. Proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, or Python is essential, together with fluency in agentic coding tools, API integrations, and navigating enterprise security requirements.
Nice to Have
Ideal candidates bring a background in forward-deployed engineering, solutions engineering, professional services, or developer experience. Familiarity with developer tools, design-to-code workflows, or AI and LLM products like Code Connect and Storybook is advantageous. Experience partnering cross-functionally with sales, solutions architecture, or customer experience teams is also valued.

Salary and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this role spans from $153,000 to $376,000 USD, with actual compensation determined by qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.
