Replit builds an agentic software creation platform enabling millions of users globally to build applications using natural language. The underlying infrastructure makes it straightforward to launch services, isolate workloads, and run reliable systems at scale.
Leadership for the Cloud Infrastructure team involves managing shared infrastructure as code, networking, storage, compute, and service mesh platforms. The person in this role will guide an existing engineering team while staying technically engaged through design reviews, debugging, and prototyping with AI coding tools.
Candidates should possess a background in engineering management and software-oriented infrastructure depth, along with sound judgment in production operations and platform products. A successful manager will foster an autonomous work environment and balance foundational investments with delivery commitments.
What you will do
- Manage the cloud-platform roadmap by translating product, platform, reliability, and security needs into sequenced outcomes.
- Build maintained infrastructure as code interfaces for services, cells, connectivity, identities, and shared resources.
- Maintain platform availability, upgrades, isolation, recovery, and incident remediation with clear service level objectives.
- Review designs and production changes, debug failure modes, and use AI coding tools to prototype and automate workflows.
- Coach engineers, develop technical leaders, manage performance, and hire against agreed needs.
- Delegate meaningful ownership to team members as the organization grows.
What you need
- Demonstrated engineering management experience leading and developing software engineers.
- Software-oriented infrastructure depth with the ability to reason across infrastructure code, Kubernetes, networking, service identity, and stateful dependencies.
- Safe-change and production judgment with past ownership of consequential migrations and incidents.
- Platform-product and engineering judgment to create interfaces that internal customer teams adopt.
Nice to have
- Experience with multi-tenant, cellular, regional, or dedicated enterprise infrastructure
- Familiarity with GCP/GKE, Terraform or similar IaC systems, Cloudflare, Envoy/Istio, SPIFFE/SPIRE, and managed data services
- Experience with large-fleet rightsizing, infrastructure consolidation, or migrating CI compute without disrupting developer workflows
- A track record using AI tools to increase engineering output while preserving production safeguards

What is the salary for this role?
The salary range for this position is $250K to $325K with offered equity. Additional benefits include a 401(k) program with a 4% match for US employees.
