Engagement Manager
About this role
The Engagement Manager at Turing is responsible for owning the entire lifecycle of client engagements, from the initial Statement of Work through to production deployment, adoption, and renewal. This role functions as the client's executive counterpart, serving as the leader for AI Engagement Leads, Forward Deployed Engineers, and managing the overall scope, timeline, margin, and expansion of the engagement. The core of this position is not technical coding; rather, it is an account delivery leadership function focused on ensuring commercial and delivery commitments are met while maintaining strong client confidence.
This role exists to bridge the gap between frontier AI research and tangible, measurable business outcomes for large enterprises in regulated sectors like finance and healthcare. The manager ensures that AI solutions translate into real-world impact by proactively navigating complex regulatory environments, including model risk management and data residency requirements. The ideal candidate is a strong account delivery leader who can manage stakeholder relationships at the C-suite level while maintaining rigorous control over financial performance and delivery quality.
Success in this role requires a blend of strong interpersonal skills, commercial acumen, and enough technical fluency to credibly scope AI work and challenge engineering plans. This position is suited for an experienced professional who thrives on owning complex outcomes and driving adoption within mission-critical workflows.
What you will do
- Serve as the trusted counterpart to client sponsors, ranging from working teams to managing directors and C-suite executives.
- Own the steering committee, executive updates, and conduct difficult conversations regarding project status.
- Understand the client's business and organizational structure to anticipate needs and identify potential roadblocks.
- Structure Statements of Work with clear scope, milestones, dependencies, acceptance criteria, and a value hypothesis prior to signature.
- Manage the engagement cadence, staffing, risk, and dependency management to protect the critical path.
- Hold the standard that success is defined by adoption and measured impact, rather than simple on-time delivery.
- Oversee the engagement P&L against margin targets, managing staffing, change orders, and scope creep.
- Identify opportunities for expansion, such as new use cases and follow-on SOWs, to drive revenue growth.
What you need
- Possess 8 or more years of experience in client-facing delivery or consulting, coupled with at least three years leading engagements or accounts specifically for financial services clients.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of owning engagement or account financials, including managing margin, forecasting, staffing, change orders, and renewals.
- Must have experience leading engagements in AI, Machine Learning, or data platforms.
- Requires sound leadership instincts, collaborative skills, and the ability to motivate teams under delivery pressure while leading by example.
- Must possess sufficient technical fluency to scope AI work credibly and explain technical trade-offs to client CTOs or model-risk teams.
- Must be capable of navigating regulated-enterprise complexities, including model risk management, security reviews, and data residency requirements.
