Role Overview

Midi Health is transforming healthcare for women in midlife through a virtual-first platform offering personalized care for perimenopause and menopause. The company seeks a Director or Senior Director of Engineering for Growth and Consumer to lead the engineering teams powering the patient journey. This hybrid position requires working two days per week in either the San Francisco or Palo Alto office. This is a player-coach position where the leader manages a talented engineering team while remaining hands-on with system architecture, code reviews, and AI-assisted development tools.

Key Responsibilities

Direct the engineering roadmap and execution for consumer and growth initiatives, covering registration, onboarding, booking, engagement, and commerce.
Build and guide a high-performing engineering organization with a strong culture of ownership, speed, and quality.
Participate directly in technical decisions through architecture planning, code reviews, and prototyping.
Partner alongside Product, Marketing, Design, Data Science, and Clinical stakeholders to turn business goals into scalable software.
Hire, mentor, and grow software engineers and technical leaders as the department scales.
Shape company-wide technical strategy and define how modern development tools and AI are utilized.

Requirements

Strong background in software engineering, with past experience building complex consumer applications as a senior individual contributor.
Minimum of 5 years of engineering management experience, overseeing teams of 10 or more engineers.
Comfort operating as a player-coach who balances executive leadership with technical credibility.
Exceptional product instincts centered on driving meaningful user and business outcomes.
Executive-level communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional direction and align stakeholders.
Practical experience building or shipping products utilizing AI coding agents.
First-principles thinking and a strong sense of personal accountability and ownership.

Nice to Have

Background leading Growth Engineering, Consumer Engineering, Martech, or digital commerce teams.
Experience scaling consumer applications where retention, conversion, and experimentation are vital.
Familiarity with Python, Django, React, and AWS.
Background working within healthcare, fintech, or regulated industries.
Experience developing experimentation platforms, personalization engines, or AI-driven consumer features.
