About this role
Harvey is transforming how legal and professional services operate by combining frontier agentic AI, an enterprise-grade platform, and deep domain expertise to reshape how critical knowledge work gets done. As the founding Director of Government Affairs and Public Policy, this person will build the function responsible for how the company engages with governments, regulators, judiciaries, and institutions shaping the future of AI in the US and globally. Reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer, the focus centers on public policy, educating policymakers, and establishing substantive credibility in conversations regarding AI governance and access to justice.
Operating as a builder from a standing start, the leader will shape public positioning, form direct relationships with stakeholders across federal, state, local, EMEA, and APAC bodies, and hire a regional team as the department scales. Ideal candidates possess a policy-first orientation with deep familiarity in the legal industry, intellectual integrity, and the capability to bridge external regulatory environments with internal product and go-to-market strategies.
