Role Overview
The Data Scientist drives analytical product decisions within a cross-functional team handling partner-driven small business lending. Responsibilities include experiment design, causal inference, and funnel analysis to optimize loan applications, routing, and offer terms. The role involves setting analytical methods, dedicating time to research, and sharing findings across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Run analyses for product decisions using experiment design, causal inference, model building, and funnel analysis.
Own projects from start to finish by determining business needs, weighing trade-offs, and collaborating with product, commercial, and strategy colleagues.
Measure how pre-qualification, credit card options, top-down notifications, and partner funnels affect conversion and customer lifetime value.
Shape the development of underlying models and help establish the team's analytical methods.
Share experiment findings through short write-ups at weekly and fortnightly sessions.
Requirements
Background in probability and statistics from a quantitative field, typically a degree or Master's in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or similar.

Experience taking loosely defined problems from start to finish.
Ability to make evidence-based calls early and update them as new data arrives.
Experience leveraging AI to produce analysis pipelines, prototypes, or tools.
Clear, direct, and concise written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice to Have
Experience with causal inference methods beyond A/B testing, such as synthetic control, interrupted time series, or difference-in-differences.
Practical use of Bayesian methods, hierarchical models, or MCMC.
