About this role

Role Overview

The Data Scientist (Growth) position at Viktor in Warsaw is an onsite quantitative modeling role focused on predicting customer lifetime value to guide acquisition, pricing, and sales investments. This opportunity suits a quantitative professional who wants to connect retention, expansion, and product usage directly to business growth and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Build and improve customer lifetime value and lifetime gross profit models by evaluating retention, expansion, usage, and cost to serve while accounting for young cohorts and sparse segments.
Take the shadow lifetime gross profit model live as a bidding signal in Meta and Google within the first ninety days and continuously improve performance.
Validate predictions rigorously through historical backtesting, calibration checks, uncertainty quantification, and leakage prevention.
Guide acquisition, pricing, and sales investment decisions by translating predicted metrics into actionable commercial recommendations.
Model attribution and incrementality using causal methods and experiments to separate correlated metrics from true incremental marketing and sales impact.
Connect customer economics to broader financial planning, runway scenarios, and fundraising models with clear sensitivities.
Build tested, reproducible code and dashboards to make customer lifecycle data and assumptions transparent to the team.

Requirements

Strong statistical and quantitative modeling abilities with a firm grasp of retention, expansion, and lifetime value mechanics.
Proven expertise in rigorous model validation, including backtesting, calibration, uncertainty estimation, and managing changing customer behavior.
Depth in experimental design and causal inference to distinguish between correlation, attribution, and incremental impact.
Advanced SQL and robust Python programming skills to build and maintain production-ready modeling code rather than relying solely on notebooks.
Sound commercial judgment to convert complex data predictions into defensible pricing, acquisition, and sales strategies.
Familiarity with agentic engineering workflows to accelerate output while retaining full responsibility for methodologies and conclusions.
Willingness to work onsite in Warsaw and collaborate directly with leadership, finance, and growth teams.

Nice to Have

Academic or professional background in quantitative research, statistics, econometrics, or related fields.
Practical experience with customer lifetime value, survival analysis, retention modeling, or SaaS and usage-based economic models.
Prior execution of incrementality tests or marketing-mix modeling on live advertising budgets.
Experience building functional applications or tools using large language models beyond simple demonstrations.
