Role Overview

The Data Platform Engineer position offers a chance to shape machine learning and data platforms, supporting tasks from self-serve analytics to production-grade AI systems. Working at the intersection of data, infrastructure, and machine learning, the chosen candidate will build scalable systems that empower Data Science and bring models closer to the product experience. This full-time position can be performed from a US hub or remotely within the United States.

Key Responsibilities

Build and evolve the shared data platform powering analytics, Data Science, and product development.
Streamline data development by enhancing local development, testing, CI/CD, staging, and deployment workflows.
Design self-service tools and clear pathways for teams to build, deploy, and operate reliable data pipelines.
Enhance the reliability of critical data systems through monitoring, data quality improvements, incident response, upgrades, and performance management.
Establish clear definitions, ownership, lineage, and reliability expectations to make trusted data easier to find and use.
Collaborate across Data Engineering, Data Infrastructure, Data Science, Research, Modeling Platform, Security, and Product Engineering to define ownership boundaries and supported patterns.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience building and operating production data platforms, developer infrastructure, or distributed systems.
Solid software engineering abilities using Python or similar languages to design reliable and scalable systems.
Background in improving developer workflows like local development, testing, CI/CD, orchestration, or deployment.
Familiarity with modern data infrastructure, including cloud data warehouses, transformation frameworks, workflow orchestrators, infrastructure as code, and observability tools.
Demonstrated ability to own shared systems end-to-end, lead cross-functional projects with ambiguity, and communicate effectively with partners.

Annual Base Salary Range: $153,000 to $376,000 USD.
